Who We Help - The Academy of Musical Performance (AMP)

AMP students on stage

The Sweet Stuff Foundation has had the privileged opportunity to contribute to the development of the next generation of musicians by way of The Academy of Musical Performance (AMP).

How We Helped

Sweet Stuff's grant to AMP's Tuition Assistance fund will help three musicians complete AMP's life-changing AMP Summer Camp program! At summer camp, they will play music in a band (many for the first time) with musicians of all ages and from different parts of the Coachella Valley, learning how to create, communicate, and collaborate with people they may not otherwise have crossed paths with. They will hone their musical (and performance) skills over three weeks of working with the desert's best musicians, culminating in a final showcase of original and cover music on July 27, 2019.

Since AMP serves many students who come from low-income households, having instruments available to these students is one of the most helpful things we can do. Sweet Stuff's grant to AMP has helped AMP to afford instruments that AMP's students can rehearse with at home during their year-round programming, and then perform on as professionals around our community.

"AMP is so grateful to Sweet Stuff for supporting our mission and our young musicians! Thank you for giving back to the next generation!"

The Academy of Musical Performance (AMP) is non-profit music education program that exists as a space for young musicians of the Coachella Valley to come together as a community and learn how to play contemporary music in bands. Our mission is to give young students the tools they need to be lifelong learners of music, and to bring together a local community of musicians that will grow along with them. Learning to play music in a band setting is so beneficial that AMP strives to offer it to all students who deserve it, regardless of their ability to financially afford our programming.
